Orient Star was born in 1951, just one year after Orient Watch Company was founded in Tokyo, as the expression of everything the brand's movement engineers and designers could achieve when precision and finishing were given absolute priority. More than seven decades later, that founding ambition remains unchanged: every Orient Star is powered by an in-house automatic calibre developed and manufactured in Japan, protected by sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and finished to a standard that consistently surprises anyone encountering the brand for the first time. What sets Orient Star apart from Orient's core line is not simply a higher specification sheet but a fundamentally different approach to detail. The calibres are more refined, with higher accuracy ratings of +25/–15 seconds per day on standard movements and +15/–5 on the latest F7 and F8 series. Power reserve indicators at twelve o'clock have become a signature of the collection, turning a practical complication into a design element that defines the Orient Star identity across every sub-collection. Cases feature a mix of polished and brushed surfaces with sharper transitions, and the overall proportions tend to be more considered, with thinner bezels and more integrated bracelet designs. The collection spans three distinct territories. The Classic series includes the Semi Skeleton AT00 with its open heart window and Roman numerals, and the Elegant AU00 with its domed glass, pomme hands, and dress watch refinement. The Contemporary line offers the clean, versatile Contemporary Date AU01 for everyday wear, the architecturally striking Layered Skeleton AV0B and Modern Skeleton AV01 that transform the visible movement into a design statement. The Sports collection delivers the Diver AU03, a genuine ISO-rated 200-metre dive watch with sapphire crystal, power reserve indicator, and a level of finishing rarely seen at this price point. The Orient Star collection at Watchello gathers the full range of a line that proves premium Japanese mechanical watchmaking does not require a luxury price tag.
