The Orient Star Modern Skeleton AV01 sits at the absolute pinnacle of Orient's watchmaking capability. Its hand-wound calibre F8B61 is the most technically advanced movement Orient has ever produced, featuring a silicon escape wheel manufactured using MEMS processing technology derived from parent company Seiko Epson's semiconductor expertise. The silicon component, visible as a distinctive blue spiral through the open-worked dial, is lighter and more resistant to magnetism and temperature variations than traditional metal escapements, contributing to an accuracy rating of +15/–5 seconds per day and a 70-hour power reserve that leads the entire Orient Star catalogue. The 39mm stainless steel case is deliberately compact, measuring just 10.8mm in thickness thanks to the hand-wound architecture that eliminates the automatic rotor, and the dual-curved sapphire crystal with Orient's proprietary SAR super anti-reflective coating on both sides provides extraordinary clarity over the skeletonised dial. The mainplate and bridges are finished with perlage and striping in a dark grey tone that evokes depth and modernity, while the power reserve indicator at twelve and small seconds at six maintain readability within the open-worked composition. The Modern Skeleton at Watchello is the definitive statement of what Orient Star can achieve when engineering ambition and aesthetic refinement are given no compromise.
